It's hard to really say what the apple represents in fun.'s (unofficial) music video for "We Are Young," but we'll bet you won't be able to take your eyes off of the cute young chick just sitting there on her bed eyeing the camera. The song—which features R&B/soul musician Janelle Monáe—will appear on fun.'s upcoming full-length LP out early 2012 on Fueled By Ramen. Peel away, pretty.

I think the video symbolizes her losing her virginity (the apple = forbidden fruit). She's in a bed, and if you watch her expressions throughout the video, they are very intimate and varied. Peeling it might be her getting undressed. At the end, with the apple peeled, she's bleeding (popped her cherry). Notice how when she rubs it? on her lips, it gives her the appearance of wearing lipstick. It symbolizes the transition from girl to woman.
