By 1998, Jay was riding high on the commercial wave, but don't get it confused, he still had his underground sensibilities in tact. Jay was an obvious fan of fellow Brooklynites, the Mash Out Posse, and after the duo contributed “My Nigga Hill Figga” to the Streets Is Watching soundtrack, Jay joined the boys from Brownsville on “4 Alarm Blaze.”

Over a high octane “Eye Of The Tiger” sample, Jay's cool and calm demeanor was the perfect contrast to the aggressive content provided by Billy Danze and Lil Fame. Do or Die and Brownsville on the same track? Yeah, it was serious. Years later, M.O.P. would ink a deal with Roc-A-Fella Records, but after sitting on the shelf for a few years they split for G-Unit (where they also sat on the shelf).
