Back in 2004, a remake of the classic television show about a talking horse was being planned for the Fox network. Included among those who tried out for the part of Mr. Ed was none other than Ol' Dirty Bastard, who was willing to lend the lisp-enhanced charm of his animated voice. Instead, the part was given to Sherman Hemsley of The Jeffersons, but the show never went into production.
