Being surrounded by legends like John Lennon and Paul McCartney can take the spotlight off anyone. George Harrison was often called "the quiet Beatle," and although he seemed content to play the background, The Beatles' guitarist always wanted his story to be shared.

Harrison died in 2001, but his wife enlisted the help of director Martin Scorsese to make sure that fans finally get a look inside the world of the introverted musician. The documentary showcases the highs and lows of Harrison's life and career through rare and unseen footage and insight from people that knew George personally, including other musicians like Tom Petty and Eric Clapton.

Harrison's wife told Rolling Stone, "I'm fairly awed by what Marty has put together. It's a story that truly captures the essence of George."

George Harrison: Living in a Material World will premiere on HBO on October 5.
