Looks like Jay-Z & Kanye West's plan to drop Watch The Throne exclusively online before the album hits shelves worked out in more ways than one. Not only did the album manage to avoid getting leaked, but it has also broken the record for first week sales on iTunes.
We're still waiting on official Soundscan numbers, but the album is thought to have sold about 290,000 copies in week one, breaking Coldplay's first week sales record for Viva La Vida in 2008.
