#46. Twista & The Speedknot Mobstaz f/ Newsense "Crook County (Bone Crusher)" (1998)
Target: Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Producer: The Legendary Traxster Album: Mobstability Label: CWAL/Atlantic
Best Line: "Why would you compete to be doomed/Now you gon' see Eazy-E soon." (Twista)
For years, Chicago acts took aim at Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, accusing the group of biting the rapid-fire flow made famous on the Westside of town. But it wasn't until Bone addressed the situation on their 1997 single "Look Into My Eyes," when the beef reached a boiling point. A handful of Chicago acts fired back—Crucial Conflict, Snypaz, Do or Die—but the best known response came from Twista and his protege's the Speedknot Mobstaz, who joined forces with the first lady of PsychoDrama (Newsense) to create "Crook County (Bone Crusher)."
Twista threatened that "Hoes-N-Harmony" would soon reunite with the man who discovered them, Eazy-E, and that Krayzie Bone played fanboy when the two factions bumped into each other in New Orleans. Tensions were high between Chicago and Cleveland for many years, but the beef was eventually crushed and the crews have gone on to work with each other numerous times since.
