Weekly Rewind 4/1/2011

This week Jay-Z got investigated, Snoop got in the studio with Charlie Sheen, and Nicki gave Weezy a lapdance.

Story of The Week: Jay-z gets investigated for visiting the Kentucky locker room

Jay-Z found himself in the middle of an NBA investigation this week after he joined the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team in their locker room. Jigga was a guest of coach John Calipari and was there to celebrate the Wildcat's Elite Eight win over the University of North Carolina. As part owner of the New Jersey Nets, Jay's actions were illegal since he is considered NBA personnel. Whether or not Jay-Z will be fined is still pending, but we're not mad at Hov—when you suck as bad as the Nets do, getting a few top-notch draft prospects to meet their favorite rapper/owner is probably a risk worth taking.

Song of The Week: Jim Jones f/ Cam’Ron & Lady H “Getting To The Money”

With Capo in stores next Tuesday, Jim Jones has been warming us up with the tracklist and a couple of leaks from his album. The best leak being this track with his Dipset partner Cam'Ron and Lady H. Yeah, Jones is still wearing a mean dark pair of shades...and yes, he's still balling.

Nicki Minaj giving someone a lapdance has become a tradition on the I Am Still Music Tour. But this week, instead of giving one to a fan, she switched it up and put her boss Lil Wanye in the hotseat. The dance was rather modest, as Nicki claims she was nervous, but Wayne was all smiles. We're going to go ahead and say she's Young Money’s Employee of The Month.

Win of The Week / Fail of The Week

This week, Eminem won a suit over Universal Music Group and he can now claim 50% of royalties on the licensing of his songs, as opposed to the 12% he'd receive for a digital sale. This isn't just a good look for Em, but also all the older artists who can now make the same claim. Racking up a tally in the loss column though, was Matthew Knowles who parted ways professionally with his daughter Beyonce. It might not be such a big deal if she wasn’t, y'know, the biggest pop star in the world. Could Bey be moving over to Roc Nation? Talk about an awkward family dinner.

Quote of The Week: Rihanna likes being spanked and tied up

I like to be spanked. Being tied up is fun. I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned—you've got to stop and get the whip from the drawer downstairs.

Apparently, all publicity is good publicity.
