Hip-hop had a busy weekend. Birdman made a cool million betting on the Super Bowl, Eminem starred in two Superbowlads, and Wale finally confirmed (via Twitter) that he has joined Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group. For the D.C. rapper, some would call it a comeback. There's no denying it, when Wale first created a buzz for himself with his excellent mixtapes, 100 Miles & Running and The Mixtape About Nothing, he was on the come-up. But then he dropped his underwhelming debut album, Attention Deficit, which sold meagerly and featured no real hits. His career seemed like it was in limbo for a while. Unfazed, he dropped the well-receieved More About Nothing, jumped on Waka Flocka's smash "No Hands," and now has signed with Maybach Music Group. To top it off is the rumor that various major labels have entered a bidding war over MMB, which suggests that Wale's new venture may be a savvy business move.
