The Teflon President: Our 10 Favorite Ronald Reagan Lyrical References

A day late and a dollar short, but happy birthday Ronald Reagan! Had the 40th President of the United States not passed away in June 2004, he would have turned 100 years old yesterday. Today may be the 11-year anniversary of Big Pun’s death (R.I.P.) and the 37th birthday of J Dilla (Happy birthday!), but Reagan’s birthday is an important day in hip-hop as well. After all, if it weren’t for Reaganomics (which basically says let's give rich people more money and cut services for poor people) and the Iran-Contra affair (which lead to crack in the ghettos), where would your favorite crack dealer turned rapper be today? That’s why we put together The Teflon President: Our 10 Favorite Ronald Reagan Lyrical References. Because in hip-hop, Barack Obama is a hero, Bill Clinton is a pimp, but Reagan is kind of a goon.
