Plenty of books have been written about hip-hop, but none quite like Aria Multimedia Entertainment's epic new hardcover, Hip Hop: A Cultural Odyssey. Penned by veteran rap journalists (including Complex's own Senior Editor Toshitaka Kondo) and loaded with images that capture the essense of hip-hop culture over the years, the 400-page plus book offers an in-depth look into the genre of hip-hop. That's probably why the Grammy Museum in L.A. is launching its first major hip-hop exhibit in conjuction with the book, which can be purchased here. In honor of the release, and to commemorate hip-hop in general, we put together some images from the book to show just how far the culture has grown. And you thought that hip-hop would never take it this far!
