These kids from the Chi are a collection of talents. The band's bluesy ode to a departed love one makes the move up, adding another certified tune in the group's surly-expanding archive. (Their previous track "My Days" captures old men sentiments over a jazz-infused backdrop.) The main vocal Liam Cunningham belts out a heartfelt chorus, while the MC Vic Mensa spits with breezy eloquence. The sole female member of the band, Macie Stewart, floridly ties up the bridge, and the supporting instrumentation (trombone, saxophone, bass, drums, and trumpet) creates a harmonious aural picture for a soothing love tale. This track and the video assert our decision to check out their upcoming Hard Times EP on January 15th, so see for yourself why we're impressed.
