Jack says: "This band is so depressing to me. My girlfriend went through a phase
of playing this album whenever we slept and it would bum me out! But in a
good way I guess."
I like the bassline & im searching for an instrumental to study the production .Oj somehow recreated the roland 303 synth bassline with a guitar in a live performance so i'm even more intrigued now.
It was recently sampled by beverly knight & chipmunk.
As it happens it also my favourite Section 25 track as I recently commented on their forum.
Did you know that they have done a reworking of it for their new album, Retrofit?
This EP was always a favorite of mine.
A high and low point for the band; they were peaking here but the distribution got F'd as I recall reading. So glad I was able to find a copy.
I'm going through your list and now you're freaking me out just a bit.
I still spin this track when ever I DJ out. 'Looking from a Hilltop(megamix)' was a HUGE club track here in Chicago when it came out, however 'Inspiration' has that 'Deutsche Romantische' beauty of KW's, "Neon Lights". Minimal and sublime.
I think that the album version is much better - better intro at the guitar & no annoying girl background vocals.
btw, you should have put Felt in the top 5 at least :).

Great writeup. I love Wild Nothing, and this will most likely give me a few good hundred hours to listen :)
