What Happened? As chronicled in Beef II, the relationship between Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith turned sour in the early 90s when Sermon felt Smith was shortchanging him. Rather than confront Smith to his face—or go the Ice Cube route and split from the group—Erick paid a bunch of goons $5000 to run up in Smith's house. The thieves set off the alarm and had to run off before Parrish came home. Eventually they were apprehended, Parrish learned the truth, and the group broke up. Later on, when EPMD reunited, one of the people who broke into Smith's house rode along with the group during their tour!
Complex says: Along with Saigon's Greatest Story Never Told, Style P's Time Is Money, and Biggie's Life After Death, EPMD'S Business Never Person has got to be one of the most ironic album titles ever.
