Granted, reviving the "Night At The Roxbury" song (a.k.a. Haddaway's "What is Love" ) isn't the most obvious choice for a dead-serious rap anthem, but Just Blaze makes it work with his cleverly constructed barrage of 808s, house synths, and vocal snippets that builds on the formula he created with T.I.'s "Live Your Life." After listening to Em over the same style of production for a decade, it's liberating to hear him trading bars with Weezy on this bouncy Relapse standout, proof that hip-hop doesn't have a generation gap. Fuck what they say.
