In anticipation of the 2010 VH1 Hip Hop Honors: The Dirty South, which airs on June 7, Complex and Miss Info have teamed with the network to celebrate this year's honorees with exclusive coverage.
2 Live Crew will always be remembered for the cursing, which is a fitting legacy for the group that brought "pussy popping" and "dick throwing" to the mainstream. But in addition to being an all-around nasty motherfucker, frontman Luke was a shrewd label exec, as well as a warrior for First Amendment liberties. He was arguably rap's first superstar hype man, its first mogul-slash-artist in the Diddy mold, and the first Southern rapper to break the Mason-Dixon Line in hip-hop. In anticipation of this year's Hip Hop Honors, Complex is taking a look back at 25 of Luke's most memorable records as a label head, artist, or producer...

Great list! Reminded me of a lot of classics and turned me on to a few I had never heard before. Nice to have a streaming explicit version of "pop that pussy" available haha.

Luke is not the only member of the 2 Live Crew . He may have been out front but you've gotta give props to the the guys who started the Crew. I guess being HYPE is all that's focused on in that line of work...
