Amir Says: West Coast hip-hop was all over that, from Ice Cube to N.W.A. The Midwest too. It's a slower sample, BPM-wise. A lot of beats on the West Coast at that time were slower, they were made for the ride. Some of my West Coast favorites used that.
Kon Says: Another one that’s been sampled to death. That record was ahead of its time to me. The keyboard breakdown sounds like some Egyptian-type shit. I play that record in my sets a lot.

Also used by the Bomb Squad again on 'Night of the Living Baseheads'. I reckon the Isleys were first with this. JB had a bit of a rep for nicking other people's instrumentals. And replacing a vocal with horn lines seems more likely than the reverse.
