Wrap It Up, B! A History of Hip-Hop's Longest Songs

Rammellzee & K-Rob "Beat Bop" Released: 1979
Running Time: 10 minutes 07 seconds
Ever wonder what the first so-called "hipster rap" record is? You might have to give the distinction to the always inventive graf writer/musician Rammellzee, who recorded this song with a little help from his homie Jean Michel Basquiat. The iconic artist put up the money for the recording, designed the artwork for the test pressing, and (according to some legends) even helped produce the beat. If that didn't give it enough cred in the art world, the song was also prominently featured in Style Wars. He probably wore tight pants too!
