Let's be honest here: most award shows are disappointing, and it's hard to understand why. A lot of our favorite artists were in the building for last night's American Music Awards, the production value was sky-high, and yet it was less exciting than a good blog post. We enjoyed Eminem and, to a lesser extent, 50 Cent's set though. It didn't suffer from the unmatchable hype of someone like Rihanna's performance. Nah, the duo's time on stage for "Crack A Bottle" and "Forever" was simple, brief, and technically sound. Sometimes that's all you need.

I'm always amazed at how good Eminem sounds life. It's like almost the same way it sounds on the CD. There aren't many rappers that can still capture the same sound live - and it usually ends up sounding like a lot of screaming and yelling.
