Several accidents were reported near East Rutherford, NJ after a Brinks truck spilled cash on a major highway. According to New York's ABC 7, motorists had trouble navigating the rush-hour traffic as other people left their vehicles and scrambled to collect the cash.
ABC reports that the money spill occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Route 3, and video taken by people along the route shows drivers dodging traffic to collect the loose bills. This high-stakes Frogger game led to multiple crashes.
Brinks has not confirmed how much money was lost.However, they admitted that the embarrassing loss of cargo did happen.
"We can confirm that there was an incident with one of our trucks this morning, which we are investigating," Brinks said in a statement.
While detectives are looking into the wrecks, there's no word yet on if they are attempting to track down motorists who took advantage of the situation. They are asking anyone with information on the incident to call them.
