A baby girl was delivered in a Chick-fil-A bathroom in Texas on Tuesday night.

“Last night I delivered our baby girl IN THE BATHROOM AT A CHICK-FIL-A!” the father, Robert Griffin wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, in a long post that has now amassed more than 200,000 reactions.

When Robert’s wife Falon started experiencing contractions on Tuesday, the two made their way to San Antonio’s University Hospital but stopped on the way at a nearby Chick-fil-A to drop off their two daughters with a family friend, KSAT-12 reported.

Robert wrote that when they stopped, Falon needed to go to the restroom, but Chick-fil-A was closed, so the couple knocked on the windows until they got the staff’s attention. Robert saw his kids off while waiting for his wife, but when he went inside, the store manager told him his wife was “screaming” in the bathroom because she was giving birth.

“I can see just the top of Gracelyn’s head, just barely crowning, but I knew we couldn’t go anywhere. So I told her, ‘Sweetie, we’re gonna do something great, and we’re gonna do it right here and we’re gonna do it right now,’” Robert told KENS-TV.

“I couldn’t control it,” his wife said. “I was basically [straddling] the toilet—I wasn’t even sitting down. I was literally standing giving birth, with one hand on the wall and one hand holding her head.”

During the delivery, Robert found out that the baby’s umbilical cord “was wrapped around her neck twice.” However, he didn’t want his wife to panic, so he “told her to relax for a minute and I was somehow able to unwrap the chord [sic] from the baby’s neck.”

“With two more strong pushes, and using my shirt for a towel, out came Gracelyn Mae Violet Griffin,” he shared on Facebook. He also added that “paramedics arrived 15 minutes later” and “everyone’s healthy.”

He continued, “Her birth certificate reads ‘Born in Chick-Fil-A’ and the hospital had me sign the birth certificate as the attending physician. 👊”

Apparently, before the miraculous birth, per KSAT, the parents bought a Chick-fil-A onesie that read “Little Nugget” on it. Because of the surprise delivery, the franchise is offering Gracelyn free food for life and pledged to give her a job when she turns 16, according to KSAT-12.
