In a very Donald Trump-like move, the president tweeted a very bold, combative message only an hour after tweeting "Happy Easter" on Sunday. Trump is no longer supporting DACA, a move that he naturally discussed on his favorite social media platform.
In one tweet, Trump eloquently wrote, "NO MORE DACA DEAL," along with a string of reasons why he has flopped back to the disapproval of the program that supports dreamers. He tweeted, "Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal (Democrat) laws like Catch & Release. Getting more dangerous. “Caravans” coming. Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW. NO MORE DACA DEAL!"
In another tweet, he wrote, "Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S. They laugh at our dumb immigration laws. They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA. NEED WALL!"
The President is spending Easter Sunday at Mar-a-Lago with First Lady Melania Trump and daughter Tiffany. According to NY Daily News, before Trump attended Easter service, he told reporters the U.S. needs to focus on border security. "Mexico has got to help us at the border," he said. "A lot of people are coming in because they want to take advantage of DACA." It is unclear what exactly provoked the president to bring up this topic once again.
Trump moved to end the DACA program in September 2017, but lawmakers were given six months to come up with a solution or alternative to the program. Trump again blamed the Democrats for not reaching a solution. "They had a great chance," Trump told reporters. "The Democrats blew it." President Trump implied that he might do away with the DACA budget since an alternative has not been found.
