For as long as Kellyanne Conway remains a puppet of the Cheeto-in-chief, her husband may have to follow suit. George Conway is a known critic of Trump, but he seems to have deleted some of his tweets after they attracted media attention earlier this week.Â
"I have nothing to add,"Conway told CNN when asked about the deletions, claiming that he deleted the tweets for "no reason." His wife serves as a counselor to Trump but is now in the running to take over Hope Hicks’ position as White House Communications Director. Hicks' last day in the White House was Wednesday.
Conway previously retweeted posts mocking Trump’s travel ban, casting criticism on the Stormy Daniels situation, and praising Robert Mueller’s investigation. According to CNN, he also retweeted a post from a former Obama administration associate counsel who commented negatively about Trump’s nondisclosure agreements he had White House staff sign. "Occasionally an official would ask us in the Obama White House Counsel's Office if they could make their staff sign NDAs. We'd tell them no," the tweet reads. "WH staff work for the public."
Though he had liked and shared tweets attacking Trump’s travel ban, Conway emphasized his support of Trump in June 2017 with a tweet. "Just to be clear, and in response to inquiries, I still VERY, VERY STRONGLY support POTUS, his Admin, policies, the executive order," he wrote. For the sake of his wife, Conway will most likely be more cautious about making any moves with his Twitter fingers in the future.Â
