Even in the midst of our current craft beer revolution, you may find yourself wanting something a little different. Whether you’re a well-versed beer nerd or a novice who likes to dabble, seeking to break from those wheaty Hefeweizens and super hoppy IPAs in favor of a beer that’s packed with flavor—yet has a unique and refreshing vibe—is clearly understandable.

On February 9, New York’s own Brooklyn Brewery is bringing back a specialty brew that’s the perfect remedy for any craft beer fatigue: Brooklyn Bel Air Sour. This dry-hopped sour ale, which was first available in very limited release last year, greets you with bright, aromatic notes of tropical fruits. These are quickly followed by a flavor that combines a moderate sourness with a light, bready-malt sweetness to achieve a zen-like balance. The beer’s light orange haze conceals a mouthwatering, medium bodied taste with prickly carbonation. This unique brew is laid back, breezy, and completely refreshing. Not to mention, it pairs well with a surprisingly eclectic group of foods, from a funky soft cheese to a deliciously tart lemon pound cake. The crew at Brooklyn is so excited about the Bel Air Sour that they’ve decided to add it to their collection of beers that are available year-round.

Brooklyn Brewery will celebrate Bel Air Sour’s re-release with the aptly named "Party Tartly Day" on Friday, February 9. They’ll throw parties across the country, with the crown jewel event being the Party Tartly Variety Showcase at The Bell House in Brooklyn. There, guests can compete for a year of free beer, enter a free raffle, watch a special performance by Crazy Pills, and of course, enjoy Bel Air Sour.
