Finally, pussy has grabbed back. No, not that kind (sadly). A pack of lions in South Africa mauled a suspected poacher to death. The remains of the mostly eaten human were found over the weekend in a bush at a private game park located just outside Kruger National Park. Cue: The Lion King theme song. “It’s the circle of liiiiiiiiiiffffeee!”

“It seems the victim was poaching in the game park when he was attacked and killed by lions. They ate his body, nearly all of it, and just left his head and some remains,” said police spokesman Moatshe Ngoepe. Looks like these cats have seen The Godfather a few times. That’s one way to send a message.

Police are still trying to confirm the victim’s identity. “We are still trying all other means, including the Home Affairs Department, to get his history, which may lead us to his residential place," Ngoepe said. According to the local news, a rifle and ammunition was found next to the body.

Initially, the remains were thought to be those of a farm worker whose tractor had broken down. However, officials have since located the farm worker, and he is all in one piece.

This isn’t the first time the animal kingdom has exacted revenge on poachers (or tourists). A few months ago in Namibia, a rhino charged and severely injured a poacher, who was hunting the animal for its horn.
