Iowa Man Got in Fight With Gambling Machine

A man in Iowa learned the hard way how not to act at a casino.

We've seen man versus machine play out in dozens of scenarios through sci-fi and action movies over time. Everyone knows how things can turn out when we start meddling with robots...but sometimes, you have to wonder what evolutionary flaw has made humans so prone to acts of violence against ordinary technological advancements like ATMs and slot machines.

A man in Iowa was recently arrested and is facing criminal mischief for losing his shit and repeatedly punching the touch screen of a gambling machine at the Diamond Jo Casino. The county deputy was sent out to the casino to address the complaint and review security footage that showed the aggressor, Dion King, going ham on the machine. It's unknown how much money King may have lost, or whether he was just frustrated with a glitchy machine, but the Associated Press reports that his violent outburst incurred over $2,000 in damages. Hopefully he had more luck earlier in the night, or else he'll be owing Diamond Jo Casino a bit more than what he left with.

This incident comes just after another bizarre instance of machine aggression. A Florida man similarly began bashing the screen of an ATM when, get this, it started to give him too much money. While there are always two sides to a story, it's unlikely we will ever truly get to the bottom of what these sinister machines did to make these men react with such unrestrained violence.
