One Dead, Seven Injured in Church Shooting in Tennessee (UPDATE)

Emanuel Kidega Samson, 25, has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing one person and injuring multiple authorities at Burnette Chapel Church of Christ in Antioch, Tennessee. Additional charges are expected to be announced, NBC Newsreported.

Authorities have confirmed that one person has been killed, and seven people have been injured in a shooting in a church in Tennessee. The shooter has been taken into custody. 

The shooting took place at the Burnette Chapel Church in Antioch Tennessee, right outside of Nashville. Police reported that they began hearing complaints of gunfire around 11:15 AM CT. 

The Nashville Fire Department has been tweeting updates regarding the attack:

Medical personnel are treating 8 wounded church goers shot at Burnett’s Chapel Church of Christ. Shooter among wounded.

This is a mass casualty situation. All of the wounded have been transported to area hospitals. The majority are older adults.
