A man in St. Petersburg, Florida named Rorn Sorn was sentenced to six years and five months in federal prison on Monday, for accidentally firing off his gun while taking a bathroom selfie. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tampa made the announcement. According to local reports, the bullet shattered the bathroom mirror and went through the wall into the women's restroom. The incident took place December 17 of last year at Club Lust in St. Petersburg. When asked by club security if he had fired the shot, Sorn responded, "It was an accident, man. I was just trying to take a selfie." Luckily, no one was hurt.

Sorn, 34, pleaded guilty to the charges back in April. The statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Tampa identifies Sorn as a member of the Asian Pride Gang. The sentencing is a bit harsh because Sorn had previously been convicted of burglary and attempted first-degree murder, which prohibited him from possessing a firearm. Police found Xanax pills, a .40 caliber firearm, a gun magazine, and marijuana in Sorn's possession.

Selfies are great and all, but always remember to think twice before taking one. Especially if there's a gun involved. Guns and selfies are a very bad combination.
