One Nation’s Mark Ellis has withdrawn from the state election due to his family receiving death threats and abuse. He made the announcement over a lengthy Facebook post this morning, which has since been deleted.

He stated: “The constant abuse, harassment and threats to myself, my wife, my parents, and my friends – coupled with the damage to my business and my reputation are simply not worth it. I really don’t need the job that badly.”

Unsurprisingly, it seems the public haven’t forgotten that Ellis was one of the Pinkenba Six – that is, one of six police officers who in 1994 were charged with kidnapping three Aboriginal teenagers. The boys were picked up in Fortitude Valley and driven 14km to the middle of nowhere. The officers threatened to cut their fingers off, took their shoes and told them to walk home. The case was eventually dismissed because the boys had willingly gone with them. Yes, because refusing to obey police orders would have ended so well.

In his deleted Facebook post, Ellis denounced “leftie media” and “pathetic haters” that rightfully called him out for his racially motivated actions. It’s questionable that he can play the victim in this situation, as it turns out he made death threats to one of his employees last year. Mihalis Kalaitzidis, 25, formerly worked for Ellis’s firm Gatecrash Security, which purportedly specializes in private parties and corporate events. Considering his past, the idea of Ellis keeping teens safe is laughable.

Kalaitzidis has come forward with screenshot evidence that Ellis threatened him over Facebook Messenger in July last year. The elegance and poise of the would-be One Nation MP can be surmised in the following excerpt:

“Fuck you. I’m gonna kill you. Fuck you. You’re a cunt. Sorry – but you are. I wish you weren’t. I’m gonna fuck you up cunt… I know where you live.”

It’s One Nation’s loss, really. But Ellis’s Facebook woes don’t end there. Guardian Australia managed to dig up a tagged photo that shows him doing a Nazi salute, whilst standing next to a gigantic swastika that he’s presumably just mowed into the lawn.

Ellis has been steadily deleting photos and posts from his Facebook page since this morning. Unfortunately for him, the Internet loves screenshots as much as it seems to hate racists.
