Taco Bell Naked Chicken

If you thought the Doritos Locos taco was peak Taco Bell food ingenuity, you aren't as futuristic as Taco Bell is getting right now. It's been announced that their latest invention is the Naked Chicken, which is a chalupa where the shell is made out of fried chicken. It's about to be LIT.

Bloomberg reports that this bold move is due in part to the high demand for chicken mixed with Taco Bell loving some form of wild sh*t when it comes to food combos. Taco Bell president Brian Niccol said, "Fried chicken is growing at a tremendous clip. It’s a real void on our menu, and it’s something that our customers ask us for."

Accreate.

Now earlier, I was joking about how this isn't the first time fried chicken has served as some kind of device to hold the rest of a meal. Remember KFC's Double Down? That jawn was essentially two pieces of boneless fried chicken, melted cheese, and bacon and was viewed as one of the unhealthiest sandwiches ever. It also got remixed into a hot dog back in 2015. At least the Naked Chicken chalupa has lettuce on it.

Taco Bell's Naked Chicken Chalupa touches down on January 26. Mark that down now, so that when your 1 a.m. squad is trying to get fed, a quick trip to Taco Bell will be in order.
