Men of Reddit Claim They'd Wear Dresses, Do Other 'Feminine' Stuff If Society Were More Accepting

Masculinity is boring. Why not wear and do whatever you want?

I can't relate, but apparently some men—straight, boring, cautious men with no sense of self—are still worried about maintaining a hardened shield of antiquated masculinity in 2017. Sigh. That shit is so yawn-inducing and we should already be way beyond it. However in a recent Reddit thread spotted byUproxx, men seemingly too afraid to shatter their meticulously crafted images of rugged masculinity (yawn!) gathered to discuss things they would do if not for an apparent fear of femininity.

"Men of Reddit," the opening Reddit inquiry from watermelancholia stated. "What thing would you do if it wasn't so 'feminine' or socially 'unacceptable'?" The answers were prompt and plentiful, including this one from trump_did_nineeleven:

"If I didn't have a penis I would only wear yoga pants."

Speaking of body parts, others—such as rateds2k—are more interested in putting the magic of lasers to use on the unsightly hair often found on one's ass:

"Laser hair removal on my ass. Actually I finally starting going(am in my 4th session) and omg it is amazing. I so should have just swallowed my pride and done this sooner. I have always had to shave between my butt cheeks because it was like shitting through a strainer if I didn't. Also as a side effect I save so much more on TP now."

Thanks for that one, rateds2k. But what about smelling like a "jar full of polka dots" immediately after showering? That's Dear_Occupant's choice:

"It's a really simple thing, but girls just fucking smell good. When they come out of the bathroom after showering and freshening up, it smells like someone knocked over a jar full of polka dots or something. They're all flowery and fruity and sweet. I wish I could smell like a flowerbed all the time without getting judged."

The topic of skirts and related attire was also broached during the discussion, with jaijaikali presenting a pretty awesome vision for the future of genderless clothing:

"Skirts. We need the ball room. I'm actually for the revival of cloaks and such as well. We should just wear robes."

For woodwalker700, rocking a sundress would also be dope:

"Sundresses, man. When it's hot as shit outside those things look like heaven. I'm not really worried about proving my manliness or whatever, I'm secure in myself, but I think wearing dresses is a bridge too far."

Though I shouldn't have to say this, I apparently do: Fuck all this noise. Just wear (and do!) whatever you want, whether it's traditionally regarded as masculine or feminine or both, and get on with your lives as fully formed versions of yourselves. Seriously! Nobody fucking cares, and if they do, they're not your friend. For example, my nails are painted right now and my life is pretty sweet. I also like yoga pants. Carry on.
