Philadelphia's infamous 'Gucci house' won’t be demolished after all reportedPhiladelphia Magazine. This August the Gucci house had been declared “imminently dangerous” by the city’s Licensing & Inspections department therein creating opportunity for the house to be demolished.

The West Philadelphia house’s Licensing & Inspections violation was issued Aug. 9. A video uploaded early September showed the outside of the house. (The house got its name in 2011 when it was painted with the green and red Gucci stripe and a design similar to the Gucci brand’s interlocking G print.) In the video someone is heard pointing out the orange notices on the house lamenting that the house was going to be knocked down.

But according to Philadelphia Magazine a spokesperson for Licensing & Inspections, Karen Guss, said the house will remain after the owner agreed to fix the house’s violations. The violations, which is why the house was deemed “imminently dangerous,” were loose bricks above the door. An inspector reportedly worried the bricks would fall at any moment and injure someone.

Guss said the Licensing & Inspections department probably sent notice of the violation to the Gucci house’s old owners which is why the violation didn’t reach current owners. Citing records Philadelphia Magazine reported Golden Management LLC bought the Gucci house late July for $12,300.

That being said you can still go visit the Gucci house, though it’s a little worn down with its red stripe having faded to pink.
