Picture this: You return to your home after a few days away and you find a pair of burglars getting busy on your sofa. What would you do? If you are a Tennessee woman by the name of Jamie Barnes, you attack them with a broom.
"I picked up my broom, I wanted to hit that man so bad," Barnes sad. "She tried to grab one of my dresses and put it on and I snatched it from her, what are you trying to do?"
The butt naked burglars reportedly got into Barnes' home and were spotted carrying bins of clothes out of her house, as well as trying to sell her jewelry and jacking her appliances and clothes. When Barnes started swinging her broom, the male—who is said to have shouted "I don't know nothing" multiple times—took off running, never to be found by police. The woman, Tonka Barnes (no relation?), was arrested on aggravated burglary charges.
"It's horrible in there," Barnes continued. "It's absolutely horrible in there. It's like they just had a big old nasty party."
Barnes said she was already planning on leaving her South Memphis residence, but this "nasty party" put her over the edge. She does have one quality piece of advice for everyone out there: Get renter's insurance, ASAP.
