The drive-by shooting death of a Houston woman is raising questions for concerned family and friends who believe the woman was targeted. Kendra Childs was shot and killed at the Uvalde Ranch apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, ABC 13 Newsreports. The shooting occurred while Childs' boyfriend was at work, with the alleged shooter reportedly firing the weapon up to her second level apartment from a black Camaro.

"Witnesses reported seeing a black newer model Camaro with standard rims and tinted windows drive by the house and fire multiple rounds," Mark Holdbrook, of the Houston Police Department's homicide division, told reporters Wednesday. Police believe a man and woman were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting. Childs, 19, was dead when the boyfriend arrived at the apartment after work.

Angel Whitaker, Childs' cousin, toldABC 13 News that the family feels "broken" after the death. "It just hurt because she didn't deserve to go like this," Whitaker said. "I understand it was her time, but she didn't have to go like this. She didn't even make it to her birthday tomorrow." Though police have not officially declared a motive or named a suspect in the crime, users on social media have started sharing tweets allegedly sent by an ex-girlfriend of Childs' boyfriend, including several that appear to be threatening an unnamed person's life:

We need to create a world where women don't have to constantly see each other as competition - especially for men's attention. #RIPKendra

An account from Facebook user Quoyaa Taylor, spotted byGossip on This, mourned the life of Childs' daughter and expressed anger at the situation in general:

If you see someone on Twitter threatening someone else's life or conspiring murder, please report it. You can help save a life. #RIPKendra 🙏

Stop romanticizing unhealthy behavior. It is not, has never been, & will never be admirable. This scenario is an example of why. #RIPKendra
