Dumb & Dumber

The small town of Norwalk, Ohio, got hella Lynchian a few weeks ago when an EMS crew found a human heart in a field. On Aug. 25, the paramedics had parked their ambulance next to said field when they received a service call. Upon returning, they noticed that someone had left a plastic bag with a FRESH human heart inside it. Norwalk Police Chief Dave Light told the Norwalk Reflector, "It was fresh; it wasn't decomposed."

Detective Sergeant Jim Fulton is positive the heart only appeared after they returned to the scene and that it was not there when they had first arrived to the adjacent parking lot. He said they were gone for no more than an hour, which means some sick fuck seized that short window of opportunity to leave behind some sort of... message? A murder mystery clue? A misplaced romantic gesture? WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE?

After examinations by both a coroner and a veterinarian, authorities say they are 95-percent sure it was from a human but have yet to find out where it came from or who it belonged to. There are currently no cases involving a dead body with a missing heart that could shed light on this morbid situation. Man, does Norwalk, Ohio low-key have a serial killer carving out human hearts on their hands? Or is someone just, like, walking around with a missing heart? As of now, the police are still investigating.

This story is still developing.
