A legally blind woman living in Brooklyn has reportedly been living with the skeleton of her deceased son in her home for 20 years. Rita Wolfensohn, a hoarder who was taken to the hospital after falling in her home, did not give any indication she was aware that her son's remains were in the house with her. She reportedly told police she believed he had moved out of the house.

The body of the man was fully intact and laying in the home's second bedroom when it was discovered, according to the New York Post. Wolfensohn's sister-in-law Josette Buchman encountered the body when she went to Wolfensohn's home to pick up some supplies while Wolfensohn was in the hospital. The Post further reports that the room was filled with garbage and cobwebs, and looked as though "a garbage truck had dumped its load," according to police sources.

Sources further told the Post that the room smelled of rotting food, but there was no discernible smell of decaying human remains. After being questioned about her son's body, Wolfensohn told police that she thought he had moved out of the house. Family members, who the Post reports were estranged from Wolfensohn, said they had not seen her son in 20 years.

Police told the Post that they believe the man died of natural causes. While the police have not yet officially identified the body, they confirmed that they believe it is Wolfensohn's son. The Post reports that Wolfensohn had two sons, Michael, who died in 2003, and Louis.
