Hillary Clinton opened up a huge lead against her rival Donald Trump in the latest poll from McClatchy-Marist. According to the poll, Clinton now leads Trump by 15 percentage points, earning 48% of the vote to Trump's 33%. It's a large bump from the poll's last edition, where she led by a much narrower 42% to 39%. This news comes after her party's convention, where major figures like president Obama and vice president Biden lavished her with praise.

It also comes at an increasingly tumultuous time for the Trump campaign. Over the past week, he's made numerous strange campaign decisions. The most prominent has been his very public fight with the parents of Captain Humayun Khan, a Bronze Star Army veteran who died in Iraq in 2004. Polls have shown this fight to be very unpopular, and even many Republicans have publicly rebuked him for it.

He also recently kicked a crying baby out of one of his rallies, suggested women who are victims of sexual harassment at work should simply leave their jobs, and refused to endorse Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. All of this has sparked rumors that his campaign structure and messaging is somewhat out of control.

Despite all this, Trump has continued tweeting his way through the campaign. Yesterday, he sent out a tweet denying reports of trouble. He also trotted out his favorite "Crooked Hillary" tag line.

There is great unity in my campaign, perhaps greater than ever before. I want to thank everyone for your tremendous support. Beat Crooked H!

Clearly this campaign season is only bound to get more interesting from here.
