Texas teen and newly minted Miss Teen USA winner Karlie Hay issued an apology on Twitter Sunday morning after users found what appear to be old tweets on the eighteen-year-old's personal account that used racial slurs.

Hay has since make her personal account @haaykarrls private, but Twitter users who took screenshots of them quickly posted the tweets online just hours after Hay was crowned Saturday night (Hay also tweets on a public page @RealMissTXteen).

The Miss Universe Organization, and my own, that recognize the confidence, beauty and perseverance of all women.
