Talk about a feel-good story. One incredible father showed his love for his child by getting a tattoo on his head to match his son's brain cancer-surgery scar.

Josh Marshall's son, 8-year-old Gabriel Marshall, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in March 2015. The boy received life-saving brain surgery that left him with a sizeable scar on the side of his head. Fortunately, Gabriel is doing better. "He’s been doing good and he’s been off treatment about nine months now," Marshall told Buzzfeed.

Due to chemotherapy, Gabriel no longer has hair to cover the scar and admitted to his father that he felt like a monster. "This broke my heart," Marshall explained. "I told him if people wanted to stare, they could stare at both of us."

To boost his son's confidence, Marshall shaved his head and had a replica of the scar tattooed on him. On Father's Day, Marshall entered St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s #BestBaldDad competition that recognizes family members who have shaved their head in honor of a loved one with cancer.

The Marshalls were awarded first place at the event in Wichita, Kans. and the picture of the pair has since gone viral. The post has racked up over 134,000 likes on one Instagram page alone. Best Dad Award clearly goes to this dad. You can read more about Gabriel Marshall's story here
