Man Tries to Steal Bike From Oregon Walmart, Gets Lassoed to Ground in Parking Lot by Man on Horse

A man tried to steal a bike from an Oregon Walmart, but a mysterious man in a cowboy hat thwarted his efforts.

A man attempting to steal a mountain bike from a rack outside an Oregon Walmart Friday was thwarted with a lasso by a man atop a horse wearing a cowboy hat, according to KTVL 10 News.

Yes, a man on a horse wearing a cowboy hat took down the alleged criminal with a lasso. It's almost too crazy to believe, but the photos (provided by KTVL) attest to the truth of the narrative. This guy really chased down a robber on his horse and roped him up with a lasso!

23-year-old Victorino Sanchez was arrested for the alleged crime. People who witnessed him taking the bike reportedly began shouting and calling attention to him.

The Mysterious Lasso Man, a fellow named Robert Borba, heard their calls. Borba was nearby and had his horse in a trailer. When he saw Sanchez fleeing, Borba hopped on his horse and chased him down.

The incident took place in the small town of Eagle Point, Ore., population 9,000.

The police officer who responded said after the arrest was complete, Borba only said: "Can I have my rope back? I've gotta go."

Legend. Walmart did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
