A 17-year-old girl was shot and killed and three other people were wounded during a shooting in Oakland, Calif. on Tuesday afternoon that took place near a daylight vigil that was being held for two drowning victims. The teenage girl died a short time after being rushed to a nearby hospital, while the three other people involved in the shooting were treated for their injuries and released, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.  No arrests have been made in the shooting, but witnesses told police two men opened fire just before 6 p.m in the downtown Oakland area.

Shooting downtown, 5:41PM during a vigil, takes life of a 16yr-old and causes non-life threatening injuries to 3 others. #StopTheViolence

The Oakland Police Department told the Chronicle that the shooting happened two blocks away from a vigil dedicated to two people who drowned in Salinas, Calif. in 2015. One witness told the Chronicle that people were running "every which way" during the shooting. It occurred during broad daylight and reportedly sent bystanders ducking for cover. This video taken Tuesday shows police gathered near the scene:
