A woman from the Gold Coast suburb of Ashmore has uploaded dash cam footage of an insane road rage incident.
In the footage, a man is seen pelting her car with golf balls, as he moves at over 100km/h on a Gold Coast area freeway. The woman, who has chosen not to reveal her identity, provided some context around the clip to the Gold Coast Bulletin.
“This kind of thing is just happening too often — we should be able to feel safe out and about on the Coast,” she said.
“On Saturday I was driving along the M1 and a guy wound down his window and started waving, blowing kisses and winking. I just ignored him.
“I was driving at 100km/h on the highway and I have a partner — flirting with some guy in a car is the last thing I want to do.”
The woman's refusal to engage in cross-car flirting enraged the driver, who reacted with zero chill.
“He started driving like a crazy person, got up close and started pegging golf balls at my car, while yelling at me,” the woman said.
The woman had the dash cam installed in her car after a similar incident last August, when a man pointed a shotgun at her. These incidents prompt the question – "wtf is going on up there on the Gold Coast?"
The woman has provided the footage to police. Her car was obviously damaged, but the trauma of the situation, and the danger the male driver put both the woman and other drivers in, was also wild irresponsible.
Guys – if a lady isn't interested, just move on. And definitely don't pelt her car with golf balls. Come on son.
