Carly Fiorina Falls Off Stage While Introducing Oblivious Ted Cruz

Cruz recently named Fiorina his (theoretical) VP, citing her alleged business acumen.

Carly Fiorina took quite a tumble while introducing Ted Cruz at a rally in Indiana on Sunday. The fall, as astutely captured in ABC News' footage above, was completely missed by Cruz as he greeted his allegedly enthusiastic supporters. Though the fall appears to be a relatively serious stumble, Fiorina eventually reappears with some assistance from Heidi Cruz.

Just last week, Fiorina earned top honors from the Cruz campaign by being named Cruz's vice presidential running mate. Applauding Fiorina as an "extraordinary leader" with the apparently rare distinction of being "known throughout the country simply by the name of Carly," Cruz made the team-up official during a speech in Indianapolis on Wednesday:

The apparent humor of a stage tumble aside, the current atmosphere within the GOP would appear to be quite tumultuous indeed. In addition to securing former presidential candidate Fiorina as his prospective VP, Cruz has also softened his criticism of rivalJohn Kasich in a continued effort to prevent Donald Trump from mathematically locking down the GOP nomination. "We are very comfortable with our delegate position in Indiana already, and given the current dynamics of the primary there, we will shift our campaign's resources west and give the Cruz campaign a clear path in Indiana," John Weaver, Kasich’s lead strategist, toldCNN of the partnership.

Speaking of powerful partnerships, Cruz and Fiorina are absolute masters of the art of the handshake:
