Insert 'explosive curry' joke here.

Restaurant delivery service Deliveroo — along with its competitors Just East and Hungry House — seems to be every right now. Their green delivery bags on the back of a bike a pretty common sight around London.

Not everyone recognises them it seems. Part of the city of London were shut down due to a bomb scare this morning, with officers closing of Bishopgate and Liverpool Street due to a suspicious package.

Turns out it wasn’t a bomb. It was just a stray Deliveroo bag.

A Deliveroo spokesperson said:

The City of London Police have looked into the incident at Bishopsgate this morning. We have spoken with them and are currently conducting our own investigation internally. As a matter of company policy, we advise all riders never to leave their bag unattended in public spaces.

No word what was being delivered in the bag. We could make a lame joke about it being an ‘explosive curry’, but we’re above that.
