Cleveland protesters chant lyrics to Kendrick Lamar song in powerful video

Kendrick's latest track has become a new anthem for America's biggest civil rights movement.

During a rally of protests in Cleveland, a 14-year-old black boy was arrested after police reportedly antagonized the crowd. The crowd instantly reacted in defense of the young boy, demanding he be released. In response, police turned to pepper spraying protestors after they locked arms along the street in order to prevent any police cruisers from transporting the boy to police custody.

A video was uploaded online of the incident, or at least, specifically the aftermath of it all, as protestors joined together to sing Kendrick Lamar's most recent hit, "Alright." The uploader of the video, Black Piffin, said of the footage: “Today after the ending of the convening as everyone was walking down the street CPD arrested a 14 yr old. While everyone was demanding his release an officer pepper sprayed the crowd and further escalated the situation. In unity and solidarity everyone was demanding that he be released, and we stayed and protested until they released him!"

Kendrick Lamar's song, "Alright," which is very clearly aimed at the police and blacks being subjugated by systemic oppression, was chanted by several protestors. Some of the lyrics, below:

Wouldn't you know
We been hurt, been down before
When our pride was low
Lookin' at the world like, "Where do we go?"
We hate po-po
Wanna kill us dead in the street fo sho
I'm at the preacher's door
My knees gettin' weak, and my gun might blow
But we gon' be alright
