Even though former child star Brooke Shields first became famous for her risque roles (not to mention that Calvin Klein ad), she matured into a healthy adult and avoided "becoming tragic." She says it's because although she used to go to Studio 54 in the 70s when she was a teenager, she left before shit got crazy.
"I'd leave before all the craziness and drugs happened," Shields told Haute Living. "I never saw the bag passed around. Andy Warhol and all those guys were very sweet to me. There was something about me they wanted to protect and uphold."
She also attributes staying out of trouble to naivite. "I wasn't cognizant enough to know that you would be insecure or uncomfortable."
Well, we guess ignorance is bliss!
