Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi—best known for her roles in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Rush Hour 2—is being investigated over allegations that she had been sleeping with wealthy businessmen, including former Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai, for tens of millions of dollars.
Reports from China claim Zhang slept with Xilai for approximately $1.5 million, and subsequently met up at least 10 times between 2004 and 2007 to get it poppin'. Xilai eventually introduced Zhang to a number of his cronies, who shelled out upwards of $110 million for her services over the years.
Shortly after the story broke, Ziyi’s rep issued a statement, basically calling the prostitution claim bogus. “Why should this devoted and responsible actress have to suffer this kind of slander and defamation? Friends have advised us to release a short statement and not take this seriously.”
$110 million for the box, though? Crazier things have happened.
