Ashley Tisdale and her boyfriend Scott Speer have broken up, PEOPLE reports.
Despite a relationship that spans more than two years— they began dating in the Spring of 2009— a source told Us Weekly that Tisdale and Speer had been "on and off for a while." They eventually just decided to just end things.
"They tried to work it out but realized their relationship ran its course," the source said.
Speer is a music video director who was behind the lens for five videos for Tisdale, and he'll be directing "Step Up 4," due in theaters next year.
"What goes around comes back around," Tisdale wrote on her twitter account on December 10th.
