A year ago, Paris Hilton plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges— drug possession and obstructing an officer— after a small plastic bag containing a bindle of cocaine fell out of her purse during a traffic stop in Las Vegas. She was in the passenger seat of a car driving by her then boyfriend, Cy Waits, who was arrested for a DUI.
Paris was order to pay a $2,000 fine, complete 200 hours of community service and complete an intensive substance abuse program. Had she failed to do so, or got involved in any other snafu on the wrong side of the law (besides a minor traffic violation), she was going to be sent to prison.
Twelve months later, Paris passed her review with flying colors. The judge said she paid the fine, completed the substance abuse program and actually put in more community service hours— 228, to be exact— than she needed to.
E for effort.
