When Christina Aguilera joined "The Voice" as a coach, it seemed like a good chance at redemption for a pop star who's career was unraveling. Her 2010 album, Bionic, tanked, then she got fat, had that "National Anthem" fumble during the Super Bowl and reportedly developed a drinking problem.
But things picked up a bit for her recently by appearing as a coach on the popular TV talent show. And last week, "Moves Like Jagger," the Maroon 5 song she's currently featured on hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (frontman Adam Levine is also a coach on "The Voice").
Don't call it a comeback, though. Sources close to "The Voice" have confirmed that plans are in place to fire Christina Aguilera.
"She doesn't spend time with her contestants like she's supposed to," says the source. "She doesn't participate. She spends most of her time on the set with her boyfriend."
Xtina is under contract for season 2, but according to the source, the show's producers unhappy with her and would like to replace her for season 3.
"There is absolutely no truth to the rumor," a source at NBC told X17.
Will it happen? Guess we'll wait and see.
