Back in April, Simon Cowell said Mariah Carey would somehow be involved in the US version of "X-Factor" when it aired in the Fall. There were reports that she'd basically mentor contestants for an episode or two.
But that may change now that she's done giving birth to twins. The pregnancy initially held her back from being a judge. But according to a report at EW, while not in a judging capacity, she may still be involved for the whole season now.
"Now that she has had her babies, it's very possible that she will be involved in some way in the later stages of the show," says a source. "She has always said she wanted to work with the show, so it's something they will certainly be discussing ideas for soon."
At this point in Mariah's career, what else is there for her to do? She's 41-years old and while her recent projects have done relatively well, she really hasn't dominated the airwaves since "We Belong Together" hit in 2005. Seems like the pop stars from the boom years of the late 90s are all looking to follow in Jennifer Lopez' footsteps. Christina Aguilera did. Mariah should do the same. It just makes sense.
